The handrail is quite solid and matches the opposite railing very well. The company sent a small pot of black paint in case I needed to touch up any of the railing. Unfortunately, the paint pot was open and most of it spilled out when it arrived, so I will have to purchase something from a hardware store to touch up any of the missing paint. By the way, the paint container was in a plastic bag, so it did not spill onto anything. Most of the missing paint is on the screws, not the handrail itself. Also, my handyman did not push both pieces together all the way, so there is a slight gap between the handrail pieces. That was not the fault of the product, but the fault of my handyman. For those of you purchasing a longer handrail that comes in two pieces, be aware that the two pieces need to fit snugly. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
